Team
The people who manage your capital are the people who answer the phone. Between us we have spent more than 140 years investing other people's money — and most of our own alongside it.

The partnership
Varro has no outside shareholders and no plans to sell. Each partner is personally responsible for a group of client mandates, and reachable directly.

Before founding Varro in 2011, Edmund spent fourteen years running concentrated equity portfolios at Ashcombe & Lyle in London. He still reads every annual report the firm owns, cover to cover.

Clara joined from Pemberton Row Family Office, where she advised four generations of the same three families. She is the reason most Varro clients have never been passed between advisors.

Kenji built the Asian equities practice at Meridian Hollis before opening Varro's Tokyo office in 2015. He covers our Japanese and Korean holdings, and believes most risk is hidden in the footnotes.

Margarethe spent two decades at Kestrelmoor Capital structuring sovereign and credit portfolios through three crises. At Varro she holds a standing veto over any position the team cannot explain in one paragraph.

Thomas led industrials research at Calloway Brandt for eleven years. His team writes a ten-year thesis for every holding and rereads it, unedited, every January.

Isobel was General Counsel at Harrowgate Fiduciary before joining Varro in 2013. She oversees custody, reporting and the firm's rule that no partner may sell a holding that a client still owns.
Portraits are Dutch Golden Age paintings in the public domain. The partners prefer it that way.
